As said in the Introduction, we already know how to protect ourselves from radiation when we can sense it - as we can for visible light. That is, we keep exposure time to a minimum, we keep our distance and we shade or shield ourselves.
With x-rays, our senses fail us, and the only tools at our disposal are our knowledge and experience.
To this end, we next have to explore the always popular subject of X-ray Physics.
