The X-ray Tube
The x-ray tube is the business end of the x-ray system. From this, x-rays are produced and emitted.
A tube consists of;
- The filament, at the cathode end of the tube
- The target, at the anode end of the tube
- A vacuum enclosed by a glass insert
- Electrical contacts
- The lead housing
