Regulations - The HARP Act
One HARP Act regulatory clause that has not been significant in dentistry until recently is the one restricting ownership of CT-class devices.
A CT-class device cannot be purchased or installed unless special permission in the form of a "letter of designation" is granted by the Minister of Health or his/her deputy .
Requests for letters of designation must be sent to the Radiation Protection Office. Note that not all requests are granted by the Minister.
