A second set of radiation protection regulations exist under the Ministry of Labour Occupational Health and Safety Act. Regulation 861 governs the use of non-medical or alternately, non-patient imaging x-ray devices.
Regulation 861 also governs the safety of all occupationally exposed workers, regardless of if their work involves diagnostic or non-medical devices.
The Ministry of Labour Radiation Protection Service must be contacted if a worker is exposed over their occupational limit.
