Total Safety
An x-ray room uses;
  • High voltage, high current electricity.
  • Components kept at high vacuum, like the cathode ray tubes in the video monitors,
  • Suspended equipment
  • Remotely controlled equipment
  • Overhead and floor draped cables, and
  • Lead shielding
There is ongoing potential for physical injury in an x-ray room. This is mitigated by the training and experience of the Operator, but everyone must be aware and alert for hazardous situations.
