Germ Cell Effects
X-Rays affect the germ cells in a similar way in that it can break molecular bonds, including cellular DNA.
But of additional concern is the fact that the DNA in the germ cell is the starting point for a new life.
Errors and deficiencies in the original DNA are multiplied during the rapid cellular divisions and differentiations characteristic of early fetal development.
This increases the risks for detrimental effects for the conceptus and future generations.
